Mango and calamansi farming in Guimaras

KL Mango Farm is a mango and calamansi farm located on the island of Guimaras in the Philippines.  The farm covers an area of around 13 hectares and is home to 300 mango trees and over 2000 calamansi trees.  Our project was initiated in 2009 and is in the early stages of production.

Guimaras is particularly well known for the quality of its Mango’s.  The native Mango is a full fleshed and large species known as the Carabao mango.  The tree becomes productive within about five years and is harvested yearly.  Mango trees survive for many tens of years and become increasingly productive year on year.  Over recent years poor weather conditions have constrained Mango production in Guimaras.

Calamansi is a citrus fruit that resembles lime.  It is popular throughout the Philippines.  The calamansi tree becomes productive within a period of only two years and can be harvested throughout the year.

We aim to create local employment opportunities and to explore the potential of this business.
